PMFSA is a volunteer based organization that relies on the generosity of dedicated volunteers to help run the various programs. Your assistance is appreciated at all team levels.
The following volunteer positions need to be filled on each team:
The head coach is responsible for planning and carrying out practices, assessing player skills, aiding in development and creating a supportive and positive environment. The head coach should be familiar with the rules and regulations of the game of fastpitch softball.
Each team should have one or two assistant coaches. The role of the assistant coach is to provide assistance to the head coach by running drills during practices, base coach during games and to aid in assessing player skills. The assistant coach will be responsible for stepping in when the head coach cannot attend practices and/or games.
The team manager is responsible for organizing and contacting players and coaches regarding practices, games and tournaments. They will create team contact lists, organize jerseys, fill out registration forms for Softball BC, organize team functions and maintain communication with parents and players on behalf of the coaches and members of the executive.
Each team should have two or three members to provide field maintenance. The field maintenance crew will rake and line the field, fill holes in the infield, set up and take down bases, and pick up trash for all home games and practices.
